PEP-1192 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-21078.
Target Information
KLOTHO is a systemic anti-aging hormone belonging to the glycosidase1 superfamily. It encodes a type I membrane protein abundantly expressed in the kidney and brain. In mice, deficiency of KLOTHO expression leads to phenotypes resembling human aging, including arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis, skin atrophy, growth retardation, shortened lifespan, and infertility.
Transgenic mice overexpressing KLOTHO show extended lifespan through inhibition of insulin/IGF1 signaling. KLOTHO also regulates calcium and phosphorus homeostasis by inhibiting active vitamin D synthesis and has been identified as a potential tumor suppressor.
