이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 protein phosphatase 1 (PP1)의 세 가지 촉매 소단위 중 하나입니다.
PP1은 serine/threonine 특이적 단백질 인산가수분해효소로, 세포 분열, 글리코겐 대사, 근육 수축, 단백질 합성, HIV-1 전사 등 다양한 세포 과정 조절에 관여합니다.
마우스 연구에서는 PP1이 학습 및 기억 억제 인자로 작용함을 시사합니다.
두 가지 상이한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이가 보고되었습니다.
