Background
The DYKDDDDK peptide (Flag-tag) is a small component of an epitope that does not interfere with the bioactivity or biodistribution of recombinant proteins. It is widely used as a general epitope tag in expression vectors for affinity chromatography and purification of recombinant proteins from host cell proteins.
Flag-tags are useful in assays requiring antibody recognition, enabling detection and tracking of proteins lacking specific antibodies by adding a Flag sequence.
