Target Information

ORM1 is an acute phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver.
The protein regulates interactions between blood cells and endothelial cells and, together with haptoglobin and C-reactive protein, controls cell extravasation during infection and inflammation.
ORM1 is a major acute phase reactant in both humans and rats.
In human plasma, ORM1 (44 kDa) is present at levels of 0.5–1.4 mg/mL and increases during acute inflammation (e.g., trauma, malignancy, myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infection, major surgery, chronic pain).
It can be used for the study and diagnosis of inflammatory conditions.
