The Thermo Scientific™ Imject™ EDC mcKLH Spin Kit provides purified keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) carrier protein for simple preparation of highly effective immunogens with peptide antigens.
This kit includes ready-to-use KLH carrier protein, optimized reaction buffers, and spin desalting columns for immunogen preparation using the EDC method.

제품 설명

Carrier proteins are large, complex molecules that stimulate immune responses.
To generate antibodies against small antigens (peptides or drug compounds), these haptens must be conjugated to a carrier protein to become immunogenic. KLH is widely used for this purpose due to its high immunogenicity and phylogenetic distance from mammalian species, minimizing cross-reactivity.

Imject™ Mariculture KLH (mcKLH) is derived from limpets grown in mariculture, ensuring purity and stability.
KLH contains numerous amine and carboxyl groups suitable for conjugation using NHS-ester, EDC, or other crosslinkers.

The carbodiimide crosslinker EDC conjugates carboxyl-containing haptens (e.g., peptide C-termini) to KLH for antibody production.
This method is ideal for peptides with few internal carboxylate or amine residues, enabling high antigen loading and diverse orientation.
If key epitopes are blocked during EDC-mediated conjugation, alternatives include using amine-reactive crosslinkers or a cysteine-modified peptide with Malemide-Activated mcKLH.
