LAMTOR3 유전자는 ERK 신호전달 경로에서 스캐폴드 단백질로 작용합니다. 이 단백질은 MAP2K1/MEK1, MAPK3/ERK1, MAPK1/ERK2와 결합하며, 말단 엔도솜에서 세포 증식과 엔도솜 교통을 조절합니다. 마우스의 상동 유전자 연구에서 유사한 기능이 확인되었습니다. 여러 스플라이스 변이체가 보고되었으며, 염색체 13의 장완에 유사유전자가 존재합니다.
