Target Information
The mitochondrial dicarboxylate carrier protein (mDIC) belongs to the superfamily of mitochondrial transporters. Its expression leads to mitochondrial hyperpolarization and succinate uptake. It is highly expressed in adipose tissue, downregulated by insulin, and upregulated by free fatty acids. mDIC is also involved in glyceroneogenesis.
