Rab 단백질은 엔도사이틱 경로의 중요한 구성 요소입니다. Rab 6A는 Rab 단백질 계열의 보편적으로 발현되는 구성원으로, 골지체 막에 위치하여 후기 엔도솜에서 골지를 거쳐 소포체(ER)로의 역행 수송을 조절합니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 세 가지 아이소폼이 존재하며, Rab 6A’와 Rab 6A는 보편적으로 발현되고, Rab 6B는 뇌 특이적으로 발현됩니다.
