Target Information
Cytomegalovirus (HCMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus. Glycoprotein B (gB) is the main antigenic envelope protein of HCMV and is essential for membrane fusion in conjunction with the gH/gL complex. The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB is 906 amino acids long, with an approximate molecular weight of 100 kDa.
