Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
When using this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CTDSP1 is a class 2C phosphatase whose activity depends on the conserved DxD motif. Expression of CTDSP1 inhibits activated transcription from several promoter-reporter constructs, while a mutant lacking phosphatase activity enhances transcription.
In non-neuronal cells, neuronal gene transcription is repressed by the REST/NRSF (RE1-silencing transcription factor/neuron-restrictive silencer factor) complex, which recruits SCPs to genes containing RE1 elements, leading to neuronal gene silencing.
Phosphatase-inactive SCP forms interfere with REST/NRSF function and promote neuronal differentiation of P19 stem cells. Similarly, RNA interference targeting Drosophila SCP reveals neuronal gene expression in S2 cells. SCP activity thus represents an evolutionarily conserved transcriptional regulator that globally silences neuronal genes.
