Target Information
Phosphatase that acts on lipids with a phosphoinositol headgroup. Dephosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns(3)P) and phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,5)P2). Binds with high affinity to phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,5)P2) and also to other phosphoinositides such as PtdIns(3)P, PtdIns(4)P, and PtdIns(5)P, as well as phosphatidic acid and phosphatidylserine. Negatively regulates ER-Golgi protein transport and plays a role in macropinocytosis. In association with MTMR9, it participates in the regulation of apoptosis and T-cell proliferation. [UniProt]
