Monkeypox Virus A29L은 원숭이두창 바이러스(MPXV) 유전체 내에 존재하는 유전자로, Orthopoxvirus 속에 속합니다. 이 속에는 천연두를 유발하는 Variola virus와 백신에 사용되는 Vaccinia virus도 포함됩니다. A29L 유전자는 바이러스 복제, 조립 및 면역 회피 등 바이러스 생명주기의 여러 과정에 관여하는 단백질을 암호화합니다.
