Target Information
PAICS 유전자는 bifunctional enzyme을 암호화하며, N-terminal 영역에서는 phosphoribosylaminoimidazole carboxylase 활성을, C-terminal 영역에서는 phosphoribosylaminoimidazole succinocarboxamide synthetase 활성을 가집니다. 이는 퓨린 생합성 경로의 6번째와 7번째 단계를 촉매하며, 동일 경로의 다른 효소 유전자와 밀접하게 연결되어 상호 조절됩니다. 인간 게놈에는 여러 개의 PAICS pseudogene이 존재하며, 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 transcript variant들이 보고되었습니다.
