Product Description

NHS-fluorescein is activated with the N-hydroxysuccinimidyl-ester (NHS ester) functional group. Compared to FITC, this NHS-ester derivative offers greater specificity for primary amines and forms more stable linkages after labeling.
Pierce Amine-reactive Fluorescein Dyes are mixtures of isomers with reactive groups at the 5- and 6-positions of the fluorescein ring. Their excitation and emission spectra are indistinguishable, and separation of isomers is unnecessary for protein labeling applications.
