POLR2I는 RNA polymerase II의 소단위체로, 진핵세포에서 mRNA 합성을 담당하는 효소 복합체의 일부입니다. 이 단백질은 두 개의 다른 소단위체와 함께 DNA 결합 도메인을 형성하며, DNA 템플릿이 RNA로 전사되는 홈을 구성합니다. POLR2I에는 보존된 시스테인을 포함한 두 개의 zinc finger 모티프가 존재하며, 아연 결합 활성을 가집니다. 서로 다른 두 부위에 대한 항체를 사용한 Western blot 분석에서 동일한 분자량의 밴드가 확인되었습니다.
