Target Information
Transglutaminase (TGase)는 Ca²⁺ 결합을 필요로 하는 단백질 교차결합 효소로, e-(γ-glutamyl) lysine isopeptide 결합을 형성합니다.
포유류에서 8가지 TGase isoenzyme이 확인되었으며, Tissue transglutaminase (tTGase, TGase 2)는 N-말단 β-sandwich, catalytic core, 두 개의 C-말단 β-barrel 도메인을 포함합니다.
tTGase는 세포 사멸, 증식, 분화, 수용체 매개 내포작용 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여할 수 있습니다.
알츠하이머병 뇌에서는 tTGase 활성 증가로 인해 여러 단백질(Ab peptide, β-amyloid precursor protein, tau protein)의 중합이 일어나 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles)이 형성됩니다.
