Target Information
RYBP is a component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, essential for maintaining transcriptional repression of genes such as Hox during development. This complex mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A at Lys-119, resulting in heritable chromatin modification. RYBP also participates in X-chromosome silencing, TP53 regulation, and apoptosis control through ubiquitin-mediated pathways. It may act as a transcriptional repressor and DNA-binding protein, potentially involved in tumor growth repression and metastasis inhibition in breast cancer by downregulating SRRM3.
