Target Information

The Jagged1 protein encoded by JAG1 is the human homolog of the Drosophila jagged protein. Human Jagged1 acts as a ligand for the receptor Notch1, which is the human homolog of the Drosophila notch receptor.
Mutations in Jagged1 cause Alagille syndrome, and Jagged1–Notch1 signaling is known to play a role in hematopoiesis.
