Target Information
TSC22 domain family protein (TSC22) is a transcription factor belonging to the early response gene family.
It acts as a transcriptional repressor on the C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) promoter and is part of the TSC-22/Dip/Bun family.
This intracellular protein localizes in both the cytoplasm and nucleus and regulates cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.
It modulates the transcriptional activity of Smad3 and Smad4 and is expressed in most tissues, including fetal and adult cells.
TSC22 expression is induced by cytokines such as TGFB and may serve as a potential therapeutic target in leukemia and prostate cancer.
