Target Information

Arx contains two conserved domains — a C-peptide (aristaless domain) and a prd-like class homeobox domain.
It belongs to the group-II aristaless-related protein family, primarily expressed in the central and/or peripheral nervous system.
This protein is implicated in CNS development. Mutations in the Arx gene cause X-linked mental retardation and epilepsy.
