Target Information
The RNF139 gene encodes a multi-membrane spanning protein containing a RING-H2 finger domain.
This protein is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and exhibits ubiquitin ligase activity.
It has been associated with hereditary renal and non-medullary thyroid cancer due to gene translocation.
Studies in Drosophila suggest interaction with tumor suppressor proteins VHL and COPS5/JAB1, which are involved in CDKN1B/P27KIP degradation.
