Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These monooxygenases catalyze numerous reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
CYP2D6 localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and metabolizes approximately 20% of commonly prescribed drugs, including:

  • Debrisoquine (adrenergic-blocking drug)
  • Sparteine and Propafenone (anti-arrhythmic drugs)
  • Amitryptiline (anti-depressant)

The CYP2D6 gene is highly polymorphic; certain alleles result in poor metabolizer phenotypes. It is located near two cytochrome P450 pseudogenes on chromosome 22q13.1. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
