Target Information

HES 계열 단백질은 포유류 Groucho의 상동체인 TLE과 복합체를 형성하며, 이 상호작용은 HES 단백질의 카복시 말단 WRPW 모티프에 의해 매개됩니다. HES/TLE 복합체는 활성 단백질을 방해하는 대신 DNA에 직접 결합하여 기능합니다. 대부분의 HES 단백질(HES1, HES5)은 E box(CANNTG)보다 N box(CACNAG)에 선호적으로 결합합니다. HES2는 두 사이트 모두에 결합할 수 있으며, HES6은 DNA에 결합하지 않고 HES1 활성을 억제하여 전사를 촉진합니다. HES1과 HES2는 다양한 성체 및 배아 조직에서 발현되며, HES3는 소뇌 Purkinje 세포에서만, HES5는 신경계에서만 발현됩니다. HES6은 뇌와 배아의 사지 돌기에서 생성됩니다.
