Target Information
Natalizumab is a recombinant, humanized monoclonal antibody that binds to alpha4beta1 integrin and blocks its interaction with vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1).
It is used for research related to relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and Crohn’s disease.
Natalizumab represents the first targeted therapy blocking lymphocyte entry into the CNS, preventing acute demyelinating relapses.
