Target Information
STAT3는 STAT(signal transducers and activators of transcription) 단백질 계열에 속하며, 수용체 관련 키나아제에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동 후 전사인자로 작용합니다. CREB-binding protein과 같은 공동활성화 인자가 STAT3의 전사 활성화에 필요합니다.
STAT3는 Interferon-alpha, Interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, IL6 등에 의해 활성화될 수 있으며, JAK1 및 JAK2에 의한 tyrosine 705 인산화는 STAT3 이합체 형성, 핵 이동, DNA 결합에 필수적입니다.
인간의 STAT3 유전자는 17번 염색체 q arm에 위치하며, IFN-alpha에 의해 활성화되지만 IFN-beta에는 반응하지 않습니다. STAT3는 세포 성장과 세포사멸 등 다양한 세포 과정에 중요한 역할을 하며, Rac1 및 PIAS3 단백질에 의해 조절될 수 있습니다.
STAT3 유전자의 결손은 생쥐에서 초기 배아 단계에서 치명적임이 보고되었습니다.
