Target Information
Eukaryotic RNA polymerase II mediates the synthesis of mature and functional messenger RNA through a multistep transcription cycle, including preinitiation, promoter clearance, elongation, and termination.
ELOF1 (Transcription elongation factor 1 homolog) is an 83-amino-acid nuclear protein involved in maintaining proper chromatin structure in actively transcribed regions. The human ELOF1 gene is located on chromosome 19, which contains approximately 1,400 genes and is known for its high gene density. This chromosome also encodes several immunoglobulin superfamily members, including killer cell and leukocyte Ig-like receptors, ICAMs, CEACAM and PSG family members, and Fc receptors.
