Target Information
CENPW는 여러 암에서 발현이 증가하는 유전자로 처음 확인되었으며, 과발현 시 암 특이적 표현형을 유도하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 중심절(centromere) 내 CENPA 뉴클레오솜 복합체의 구성 요소인 CENPT와 결합하는 핵 단백질로, 정상적인 키네토코어 기능에 필수적입니다.
CENPW는 또한 핵인 단백질인 nucleophosmin(B23)과 상호작용하며, 이는 세포간기(interphase) 동안 CENPW와 결합하여 키네토코어 조립에 관여하는 것으로 제안되었습니다.
CENPW의 과발현은 SKOV-3 인간 난소암 세포주 및 제브라피시 배아에서 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 유도하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
