Target Information

Neurabin I is a brain-specific protein containing an F-actin binding domain, PDZ domain, transmembrane-protein-interacting domain, and coiled-coil region. It binds to F-actin, protein phosphatase 1, TGN38, and p70 S6 kinase. Found exclusively in the brain, Neurabin I is highly concentrated in synapses and enriched in the lamellipodia of growth cones during neuronal development. It functions as a bridging protein, targeting other proteins to synapses or linking membrane proteins to the actin cytoskeleton.
