Target Information
SLCO1B3 (also known as OATP8 or OATP1B3) is a member of the Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptides (OATPs), which are sodium-independent transporters mediating the uptake of various endogenous and exogenous compounds such as bile acids, hormone conjugates, peptides, toxins, and therapeutic drugs.
SLCO1B3 is normally expressed in the liver but is also observed in cancer tissues such as colon, prostate, and pancreas.
The molecular mass of SLCO1B3 varies depending on glycosylation (deglycosylated form: 65 kDa; fully glycosylated form: 120 kDa).
