Target Information
VMAT2 (Vesicular Monoamine Transporter 2) is involved in the ATP-dependent vesicular transport of biogenic amine neurotransmitters.
It pumps cytosolic monoamines, including dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and histamine, into synaptic vesicles.
VMAT2 is essential for vesicular amine storage prior to secretion via exocytosis.
