Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are linked to various cancers, including Li-Fraumeni syndrome, sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors. CHK2 phosphorylates several modulators of cell cycle control, including tumor suppressor proteins such as BRCA1, enabling cellular recovery after DNA damage. It functions as a putative tumor suppressor protein.
