Target Information
Med30 is a subunit of the RNA polymerase II (Pol II) transcriptional mediator complex.
The mediator complex acts as a coactivator in regulated transcription of Pol II-dependent genes, bridging gene-specific regulatory proteins with the basal Pol II transcription machinery.
It is recruited to promoter regions by interacting with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for assembling a functional pre-initiation complex with Pol II and other transcription factors.
Med30 is found in the nucleus and expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, placenta, and skeletal muscle.
