CCDC36은 감수분열 재조합 중 비접합 영역에서 DNA 이중가닥 절단(DSBs) 형성에 필수적인 단백질입니다. MEI4 및 REC114와 복합체를 형성하여 DSBs 생성을 활성화하며, 이는 접합 완료를 보장하는 데 중요한 단계입니다. 또한 HORMAD1의 기능(쌍합 독립적 신나프토넬 복합체 형성, ATR 모집, 비접합 염색질의 감수분열 침묵화, 감수분열 감시 등)에는 필요하지 않습니다.
