Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSP) are expressed in response to various biological stresses, including heat. HSP90 is a 90 kDa protein induced under stress conditions but is also abundant under non-stress conditions. HSP90 associates with several intracellular proteins, including steroid receptors, actin, tubulin, and kinases. It is suggested that HSP90 maintains the structural integrity of steroid receptors, allowing ligand binding during receptor activation.
