Target Information
The HSP70 family is a group of highly conserved proteins induced by various biological stresses, including heat stress. In humans, this family includes HSP70, HSP72, HSC70, GRP78 (BiP), and HSP75.
HSC70 (also known as HSC71, HSC73, HSP73, p72, prp73) is constitutively expressed and slightly heat-inducible. It plays a role in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating, cytoskeletal rearrangement, and lysosomal degradation of intracellular proteins. Additionally, HSC70 can retard aggregation and folding of mitochondrial precursor proteins in vitro.
