Target Information
TYW2, also known as TRMT12, is an enzyme involved in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA, stabilizing codon-anticodon interactions during ribosomal decoding.
TYW2 participates in a multistep enzymatic reaction ensuring accurate translation. It has been reported to be amplified in breast cancer cell lines and overexpressed in breast tumors, suggesting a potential role in oncogenesis.
