Product Specific Information
The DJR1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human DR4 (TRAIL-R1). DR4 binds to TRAIL, activates NF-kappaB, and induces TRAIL-mediated apoptosis. It is expressed in various human tumor cells and at low levels on human leukocytes.
Expression has also been observed intracellularly in some cell lines (Zhang et al.), confirmed with intracellular staining of Jurkat cells.

Target Information
TRAIL-R1 (CD261, DR4) is a type I transmembrane protein, also known as TRAIL receptor 1. It binds TRAIL, a TNF family ligand, and mediates apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation.
DR4 functions similarly to other death receptors such as Fas and TNFR1, playing a key role in programmed cell death during normal differentiation and development.
Apoptosis is induced via interactions between TNF family cytokines (e.g., TNF, Fas ligand) and their death domain-containing receptors.
