Zinc-finger CCCH domain-containing protein 8 (ZC3H8)는 GATA3 프로모터의 전사 억제자로 작용합니다.
이 단백질은 GATA3 유전자의 intronic regulatory region(IRR)에 존재하는 5'-AGGTCTC-3' 서열에 결합하는 서열 특이적 DNA 결합 인자입니다.
ZC3H8의 과발현은 흉선세포(apoptosis)를 유도하며, 이는 흉선세포 항상성 조절에 역할을 가질 수 있음을 시사합니다.
