Product Specific Information
Reconstitution:
Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
IGF1 (Insulin-like growth factor-1) is structurally and functionally related to insulin but exhibits stronger growth-promoting activity.
It induces various cellular responses including proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival.
IGF1 stimulates glucose transport in osteoblastic cells and enhances glycogen and DNA synthesis at lower concentrations than insulin.
In circulation, IGFs bind to IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), extending their half-life and aiding tissue delivery.
IGF-I is a potent activator of the AKT signaling pathway, promoting proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis.
Mature human IGF-I shares 100% homology with bovine and porcine proteins.
Low IGF1 levels are associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
Defects in the IGF1 gene cause insulin-like growth factor 1 deficiency, and multiple transcript variants exist.
