MARCKS는 protein kinase C의 기질로, 세포막에 위치하며 actin filament를 교차 결합하는 단백질입니다. Protein kinase C에 의한 인산화 또는 calcium-calmodulin 결합은 actin 및 세포막과의 결합을 억제하여 세포질 내로 이동시킵니다. 해당 단백질은 세포 이동성, 식세포작용, 막 수송 및 유사분열에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
