Storage and reconstitution: Upon receipt, store desiccated at -20°C.
To prepare a stock solution, reconstitute in PBS containing 1% BSA and 2 mM sodium azide.
Reconstituted solutions remain stable for 6 months when stored at 4°C.
For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Target Information
Alpha Tubulin is part of a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta tubulin subunits.
Each subunit (~55 kDa) forms the basic building block of microtubules, cylindrical filamentous structures found in almost all eukaryotic cells.
Microtubules provide structural support, serve as intracellular transport lines, and play a key role in mitosis.
Gamma tubulin is involved in microtubule nucleation.
Alpha and beta tubulin genes are highly conserved across species, with alpha tubulin gene being similar to mouse and rat Tuba1.
Expression is predominantly found in morphologically differentiated neurologic cells.
