Specificity Comments:
Activator protein-2 alpha (AP-2α) is a developmentally regulated transcription factor involved in vertebrate development and carcinogenesis. The KLF12 protein, a member of the Kruppel-like zinc finger family, represses AP-2α gene expression by binding to its promoter. This repression requires interaction with the corepressor CtBP1. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Target Information
Activator protein-2 alpha (AP-2α) functions as a key transcriptional regulator during development and tumorigenesis. KLF12 can repress AP-2α gene expression through promoter binding and interaction with CtBP1. Two isoforms of KLF12 are known.
