MUPP1 (multi PDZ domain protein 1, MPDZ)는 5-HT2C 수용체의 결합 파트너로 발견되었으며, 쥐 뇌의 모든 영역(맥락총 포함)에서 5-HT2A 및 5-HT2C 수용체와 공위치를 보입니다.
MUPP1은 13개의 PDZ 도메인을 가지며 촉매 도메인은 없습니다. 극성 상피세포의 타이트 접합부에 집중되어 있으며 claudin-1 및 junctional adhesion molecule (JAM)과 결합합니다. 따라서 MUPP1은 다양한 단백질을 타이트 접합부로 모집하는 다가 스캐폴드 단백질로 작용할 수 있습니다. 또한 claudin-8과 상호작용하여 타이트 접합 장벽 기능에 관여할 수 있습니다.
