Target Information
Fumarase (FH) 단백질은 TCA 회로(Krebs cycle)의 효소 성분으로, fumarate로부터 L-malate를 형성하는 반응을 촉매합니다.
세포질형과 미토콘드리아형 두 가지 형태로 존재하며, 번역 개시 부위의 차이에 따라 구분됩니다.
미토콘드리아형은 N-말단 확장 서열이 제거되어 세포질형과 동일한 형태로 전환됩니다.
이 단백질은 homotetramer로 작용하며, 일부 class II fumarases와 유사한 안정성을 보입니다.
FH 유전자 변이는 fumarase 결핍증을 유발할 수 있으며, 진행성 뇌병증과 관련이 있습니다.
