Target Information
DnaJ heat shock induced proteins originate from Escherichia coli and are regulated by the htpR protein. They play a critical role in the HSP70 chaperone system by interacting with HSP70 to stimulate ATP hydrolysis. These proteins contain cysteine-rich regions forming zinc finger domains that mediate peptide binding and chaperone functions. DnaJ proteins are involved in proteolysis, protein degradation regulation, exocytosis, and endocytosis.
DnaJB4 (DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4), also known as HLJ1, is expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, and pancreas, with lower expression in brain, placenta, and liver.
