Target Information
ATF3 (Activating transcription factor 3)는 mammalian activation transcription factor/cAMP responsive element-binding (CREB) 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 전사 인자입니다. 약 22 kDa의 분자량을 가지며, ATF binding element를 포함한 프로모터에서 전사를 억제합니다.
대안적 스플라이싱으로 생성되는 ATF3 delta Zip 형태는 leucine zipper 단백질 이합체화 모티프가 결여되어 DNA에 결합하지 않으며, 억제성 보조 인자를 프로모터로부터 격리시켜 전사를 자극할 수 있습니다. 이러한 스플라이싱은 유전자 발현 조절에 생리학적으로 중요한 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
세 가지 전사 변이체가 확인되었으며, 두 가지 다른 isoform을 암호화합니다.
