FIP1L1은 cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) 복합체의 구성 요소로, pre-mRNA 3'-말단 형성에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 AAUAAA 신호 서열을 인식하고 poly(A) polymerase 및 기타 인자들과 상호작용하여 절단 및 poly(A) 첨가를 유도합니다. FIP1L1은 poly(A) 부위 인식에 기여하며, U-rich RNA 서열 요소에 결합하여 poly(A) polymerase를 CPSF 복합체에 결합시키는 역할을 합니다.
