Target Information
Myoglobin is a member of the globin superfamily expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles. It functions as a hemoprotein involved in intracellular oxygen storage and transcellular facilitated diffusion of oxygen. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.
