Cytokeratin 15은 케라틴 유전자 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 상피세포의 구조적 안정성을 유지하는 중간 필라멘트 단백질입니다. 케라틴은 크게 세포질 케라틴(cytokeratin)과 모발 케라틴(hair keratin)으로 구분되며, 대부분의 type I cytokeratin은 산성 단백질로 구성되어 있으며, 이들은 이형성 케라틴 사슬 쌍으로 배열되어 염색체 17q21.2 영역에 클러스터링되어 있습니다.
