This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human MYBPC2.
PEP-1031 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20917.
Target Information
The gene MYBPC2 belongs to the myosin-binding protein C family, which consists of fast-, slow-, and cardiac-type isoforms. These isoforms are myosin-associated proteins located in the C region of A bands in striated muscle. The protein encoded by MYBPC2 is the fast-type isoform.
Mutations in genes encoding the slow-type and cardiac-type isoforms have been linked to distal arthrogryposis type 1 and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, respectively.
MYBPC2-related diseases include Lethal Congenital Contracture Syndrome 4 and Nemaline Myopathy 9.
